Course Outline
Management offers the basis for understanding the way that organizations, regardless of size and scope, operate. The objectives of the course include familiarizing students with the principles of management which are enforced in an organization and helping them realize their importance for organizational survival and success. In addition, it aims to introduce:
- The basic principles of management
- The evolution of management theories
- The analysis of internal and external environment of organizations
- Organizational planning and decision making
- The alternatives in organizing operations
- The ways to lead employees and its importance
- Controlling and feedback
- The role of managers within organizations
- The current trends in management
Learning outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, participants are expected to be able to:
- decode the external environment in which an organization operate
- identify the constituents of organizations’ internal environment
- have realized the existence of different approaches to management thinking
- set goals, plan and monitor activities
- make decisions about the optimal organizational architecture
- recognize a leader and the style s/he adopts
- select the most appropriate control criteria
- communicate, collaborate, manage time and expose their ideas better than before.
